Major Areas of Responsibility
• Create, maintain and improve product designs in 3D and 2D CAD (Mainly solid edge), mostly focus on the injection parts and metal stamping design, provide the product design solution according to the customer input.
• Support the engineering communication activities with the customer and maintain the global project development.
• Apply a principled approach to product engineering by creating and utilizing functional tools such as DFMEA, DFMA, FTA, design guidelines, Stack-up spreadsheets, GD&T, and other customer specific tools to guide design decisions
• Technical support for the Product Development Process (PDP). Cooperate with cross functional teams to insure PDP development engineering activities are completed per project schedule.
• Lead the product validation activities, create and maintain the DVP/PVP.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Injection molding part’ experience is preferred.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Thorough understanding of cause and effect relationships that will provide the skill to identify and solve problems using tools such as FTA, 8-D, 5-why analysis, Stack-up etc.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of automotive industry, procedures/system e.g. statistical data analysis, IATF16949, FMEA, ECO system, PDP, etc.
• Good spoken English communication skills Education and Experience
• Bachelor or Master in Mechanical and Automation major is preferred
• 3+ years of automotive engineering experience is preferred Physical Demands
• Ability to work several hours at a computer
• Ability to travel (domestic and international) as needed Working Environment
• Standard office environment
