Job duties:
- Set and deliver regional product and supplier strategy
- Manage the footwear team towards delivering the budgets & product strategy at Business Unit level.
- Provide local and regional sourcing expertise and market intelligence for the region to the Buying Departments in UK
- Manage existing supply base, to develop relationship with key personal in suppliers and to develop new suppliers when needed.
- Maintain complete awareness of the business situation across all the Far-east factories where the U.K. buying department has manufacturing interests. This would include issues such as quotas & duty benefits) as well as other relevant information necessary to manufacture and import competitively.
- To achieve Plan A, quality charter, margin improvement across the supply base.
- Ensure suppliers maintain critical path adherence on new product development & bulk production.
- Establish positive & close relationships with the UK departments and the Far-east supply chain to ensure the success of the direct sourcing effort.
Requirement:
- At least 7 years’ experience with a UK retailer or brand supplier including design, fit and pattern responsibility within the experience
- In depth experience and technical knowledge of footwear/ product construction & supply chain costs
- Familiar with UK Retail Industry and European footwear/product buying process
- Strong product knowledge, ideally familiar with UK standards
- Knowledge of factory production operations flow
- Negotiation skills (managing in season unplanned costs)
- Computer skills (MS Outlet, Excel, Word)
- Excellent command of English, both written and oral
- Strong management skills - strategic, setting direction, resources management and ability to drive and motivate the team.
