Job/Position Summary
xx Automotive is currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join the Electronics/Software Engineering group working at the Zhongshan facility. The Engineering Manager will lead the development of new products and innovations in existing product lines which add value or remove cost and meet the strategic objectives of the company. The Engineering Manager will also need to manage, research, plan, design, test and implement improvements and solutions to existing products. They will also provide engineering and technical support following the release of product requirements, specifications, fabrications drawings, assemblies, testing, and production lifecycle improvements of all product lines. They will support incremental innovations, standard product maintenance, end of product life cycle, and regulatory updates of current product lines.
Major Areas of Responsibility
1、Leading Electronics/Software group to develop function expertise to support company business growth for NBO/Launch
2、Team growth initiative for managing engineers for career development along with company business expansion. Ensure that necessary skills are available to execute product development activities. Develop individuals’ skills and competencies by planning effective developmental activities related to current and future assignments.
3、Manage department budget and ensure resource to support project delivery.
4、Coordinate activities with all necessary functional groups to execute new programs as well as support activities related to in-production products
5、Collaborate with global counterparts for project coordination and workload.
6、Support company’s Innovation strategy and be familiar with industry technical trend.
7、Provide regional input to global product line leader for product roadmap planning.
8、Ensure compliance with client quality policies, procedures, and practices as well as with all local, state, federal and client safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
9、Perform special assignments as necessary.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1、Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electrical or Electromechanical.
2、Be familiar with Embedded software system principle, capable to define the software architecture.
3、Be familiar with software development/testing/release process. Be familiar with the .NET environment (C#/Visual Basic) | National Instruments LabVIEW is a plus,
4、Capable of code program and calibration on hardware at the system level on a test platform.
5、Be familiar with Microsoft SQL Server database storage, analysis and reporting.
Understanding of:
1、Digital and power electronics
2、Progressive electronic/electrical components, circuits and systems design engineering in the automotive or a related industry
3、Electrical/electronic circuit simulation and control analysis, preferably on automotive electrical power systems
4、Electronic embedded system hardware and software controls in the automotive or related industry
5、Software coding for embedded micro-controller designs
6、Embedded software and software testing
7、Experience with Ansys HFSS and Maxwell or related AC magnetic analysis software.
8、Be capable of conducting SOR(Statements of requirements) analysis for electronic hardware sub-system, schematic, component selection, PCB layout and EMC/ESD design specification
9、General Experience in the automotive industry (8 years minimum) and technical team management experience (5 years minimum)
10、System Engineering/Mechatronics is a plus
11、Understand brushed / Brushless motors application is a plus
12、Strong skills in technical communication
13、Strong understanding of Automotive requirements and terminology
14、Strong background in troubleshooting and methodical approach in problem solving (i.e. 8D, Fault Tree Analysis, Fishbone, 5 Why Analysis)
15、Familiar with machining, plastic molding, rubber molding and powder metallurgy process is a plus.
16、Experience in automotive communication networks such as CAN (J1939 CAN) or LIN, as well as adding the SENT protocol will be preferential.
