Job Description Job Title : Operation Director Reporting to: Managing Director China Purpose of the Job: To develop and implement a world class operation strategy for manufacturing. XXX Operations is a key area for future development. You will be a driving force in making this a reality, leading the manufacturing team to meet business needs and long-term business objectives, ensuring production and performance objectives are met and exceeded, and are conducted in accordance with the relevant GMP, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Specific Job Responsibilities: • The Operations Director will have responsibility for 4 main areas: 1.Production Department 2.Logistics Department 3.Engineering and Maintenance 4.EHS •The incumbent will be responsible for the total operation function to ensure that production, quality and cost targets are met, he/she will also be responsible for XXX site manufacturing operation. •Responsibilities will include the Production Department which has three workshop, and Logistics department which has three teams: Purchasing, Planning and Warehousing,Facility Maintenance and both the Engineering and EHS department. You will be required to constantly monitor the production processes and manpower levels and ensure their continued efficiency. •In addition, the primary objective over the next 18-24 months is to bring the facility to EU GMP compliance capable of operating at full capacity at competitive conversion costs on three shifts x 5 days. •In this role you will also will be an active member of the China Operation Management committee responsible to establish design, implement and evaluate China’s business strategies and plans. •Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the executive level to develop and implement production systems and processes that align with the organization’s overall vision and its current and long term business objectives. •Establish production budgets; monitor the cost and effectiveness of production activities to optimize resources, prioritise spending, and achieve volume, quality, and manufacturing standards. Research, evaluate, and recommend investments in technology, capital, equipment, systems, or others assets that will enhance the standards. •Research, evaluate, and recommend investments in technology, capital, equipment, systems, or other assets that will enhance the organization’s manufacturing capabilities. •Select, and manage ongoing relationships with, external suppliers (for example, equipment vendors, maintenance contractors, raw material suppliers) to ensure the organization receives the best possible standards of service •Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of managers and other professionals (for example, engineers) to ensure that manufacturing activities meet established targets and standards •Select, train and motivate staff, set goals, and monitor performance for the production operation team Relevant Skills and Experience Essential: •Should have experience in most or, all of the following areas, including Production, Logistic, Engineering, EHS, GMP and Quality Compliance •Excellent communication, negotiation and problem solving skills •Ambitious and committed to achieving success •Strong forward momentum; driving force •Flexible to adapt to fast-paced and rapidly changing environment •Proactive, self motivated and a self starter •Highly organised, able to prioritise workloads to meet conflicting deadlines •Good working knowledge of MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint •Good commend of English both in written and oral Desirable: •Experience of working within a pharmacy manufacturing environment •Understanding different market requirements and how these impact production needs •Working in an International Organisation with exposure to varied cultures Relevant Professional / Educational Background Essential: •5 Years previous experience operating in a senior managerial position •10 years manufacturing experience with significant experience in a related industry (health and hygiene products, pharmaceuticals, etc.) •University degree or equivalent in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chem.
