Technical Manager, Factory Assessment & Technical
Consultation
Reports To:Solid line to Manager, Global Technical
Services- Technical Consultation & New Product Development,Dotted line to Manager, Global Technical Services- Technical Governance
Job Summary (Brief overview on scope of job responsibility)
Factory Assessment
Take the lead for the related FA technical service offering for all product type – softline, hardline, electrical - new service development, technical support, technical training and assessment. Constantly look for best practices and propose amendments to current BV offering and SOPs
Take ownership and accountability for projects assigned by N+ 1 or above
Evaluate effectiveness of various training programs, and suggest improvements. Provide training directly when appropriate.
Assist with and when required assignments related to Global Processes like Technical change management, Correlation, Technical Audit, Claim and Complaint investigation, Technical Inquiry- Level 2 & 3, etc
Prepare and attend client meetings in support of Business Development and Key Account
Management Teams
Contribute to sales proposals as required
Oversee the maintenance of FA related sales material
Review, assess, improve current Quality Management System for FA
Supply Chain Risk Management
Take ownership and accountability for projects assigned by N+1 or above
Work closely with BD / KAM and prospective clients to develop supply chain solutions proposal either through repackaging of current services or the development of customized one
Work closely with GTS resources and Field Operation to prepare for pilot as first step (identify resource, train, accompany on-site for oversight, etc) and then work with field operation to fully deploy, operationalize the service
Ensure successful delivery of pilot service with deliverables to client.
Interrelationships (Other key functional or communication lines)
Work with BD/PM/CRM to document the client requirements and answer the technical enquiry. Work with QA to document BV technical SOP / WI and follow up internal audit.
Work with Integrity Department to provide technical judgment
Work with Operation Teams to well understand the training needs, provide training and evaluate training effectiveness;
Work with Technical GTS Team to draft proposals, develop customized services, and provide technical support.
Job Responsibility & Accountability (Key roles, functions & accountabilities)
First point of contact for IRC for any new or updated laws and regulations that may affect FA
offering
Survey market – clients, competitors - for best practices
Draft and maintain the BV technical documents, such as SOP, Standard Field Instruction, checklist, training material, quiz and test paper etc;
Review client’s technical requirement or change request, and then prepare or maintain the related technical documents for field operation as applicable, such as client field instruction, FA protocol and training material etc.
Prepare and approve training plan for FA auditor’s competence qualification;
Search suitable technical training provided by external body to strengthen our business ability; Provide training to internal and external clients
Review and score assessment /question paper;
Provide technical support in the form of proposal preparation, seminar preparation and speaker, answer technical queries from internal and external clients, attend client meetings, work on new service development
Review and approve on site assessment report for FA auditor’s qualification; Provide training to field operation on site trainers and assessors
Approve technical documents, such as Field instruction, factory audit protocol, training material, quiz and test paper etc; when prepared by subordinate
Assign tasks to support colleagues and follow-up on quality and time commitment.
Contribute to supply chain new service design/market validation /deliverables/ SOP/workflow/ training material and training provision, marketing support, customization of current services Any other tasks as assigned by N + 1or above
