Job Summary (Brief overview on scope of job responsibility)
o For the inspection business line, responsible for monitoring the overall performance of business/operation, building up business strategy & improvement plan with implementation schedule & deployment of necessary resources to foster the long-term business development in the region;
o For assessment and audit, support FA & SA managers to monitor the overall performance of business/operation, building up business strategy & improvement plan with implementation schedule & deployment of necessary resources to foster the long-term business development in the region;
Interrelationships (Other key functional or communication lines)
o Report to Deputy General Manger, South China;
o Work with functional department—FA, SA, TTC, QA, Integrity, CS/OPM;
o Work with other Operation Office Managers, Business Line Managers and Supervisors in China mainland and Hong Kong head office;
Job Responsibility & Accountability (Key roles, functions & accountabilities)
Organization
o Ensure that resources are effectively deployed in conformity with BV values / Code of ethics / Procedures through effective training and implementation of quality management system;
o Determine and organize training needs to develop competence of employees;
o Monitor and review manpower / capacity / competence to ensure optimal resources are deployed for various services;
o Responsible for implementing Corporate-wide initiatives such as HES and One-Company;
o Responsible for implementing Division-wide initiatives such as SCQM and budget;
o Participate in committees as assigned by GM;
o Work with business line managers, department managers, and functional managers to carry out programs, projects and initiatives;
o Work with SOs, AMs and KAMs to increase clients satisfaction;
o Responsible for building up the management team in the office;
o Responsible for creating a succession plan;
o Responsible for creating career path for employees;
o Responsible for the overall monitoring of the process and result of Performance Management Program;
Integrity
o Foster an ethical and professional environment through education, discipline and teamwork;
o Monitor all employees and pre-empt possible attempts in integrity violation;
o Work with Integrity Team to implement initiatives and projects;
o Work with factories and vendors to minimize bribery attempts;
Inspection
o Improve utilization through multi-skill program, subcontractors, coordination with other operating offices and business lines;
o Improve report quality and turn-around time;
o Improve competence and ethical behavior of inspectors;
o Implement programs and initiatives set forth by the BV Group, CPS Division, or IAA Service;
o Set up office level objectives and corresponding short-term and medium-term business and operation plans;
Administration
o Approve office level documents and work instructions;
o Responsible for day-to-day operation of the office;
o Oversee business forecasts/targets, annual budgets, and control the daily operation, preside administrative and specific topic meeting;
o Monitoring the budget and cost, and approval local expense delegated by DGM & GM;
Required Skills & Qualifications (What skills are required for this position)
o Bachelors degree or above, with at least 8 years of experience in third party inspection or related businesses, in which at least 4 years at managerial level;
o Good attention to detail with ability to analyze, problem-solve and follow-up with solutions in a time sensitive environment;
o Ethical, professional, motivated, proactive, team-oriented but can work independently when needed;
o Excellent leadership and willing to help subordinates to excel;
o Strong business acumen;
o Proven track record in internal/external client relationship management;
o Strong written and verbal communication skills with sensitivity to cultural differences;
o Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
