Key responsibilities: This position will be responsible for the Quality of Power Electronic Division products produced at CMs (Contract Manufacturers). First responsibility is to ensure a high quality level of products shipped from CMs. This will involve participation in multiple products and projects, where a high degree of judgment and independence are required in developing solutions and resolving problems. Position will have decision-making authority and autonomy to deliver on goals. Influences others cross-functionally to ensure department or functional goals are met, and resolve conflicts in an effective manner. Position acts independently to determine new methods and procedures. Builds cross-functional relationships where persuasive skills, negotiation skills, and considerable tact are required to gain support. Interfaces with managers on issues related to their area of expertise. Maintains positive relationships with key customers, suppliers, etc., who have a significant impact on the success of the organization. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies requirements Strong quality, electronics, supplier management knowledge and capability; including IPC610 workmanship standards, and power electronics. Positive background attributes would include electronics design and manufacturing experience. Must have knowledge and understanding of electrical and stress testing. Ability to assess (generally to ISO 9001 standards) the CMs and their suppliers to ensure a consistent, hiqh quality supply chain. Strong leadership skills; must be a mentor to direct reports; and capable of making the right quality decisions in critical situations, including when to ship, when to screen, and when to scrap. This is critical for maintaining customer satisfaction. Excellent interpersonal skills must be a team player that works well with all, with a positive, can-do attitude, and is very results oriented. Excellent spoken and written English communication and computer skills; Must drive continual improvement and reduced Cost of Quality at Contract Manufacturing sites Must understand and drive philosophy to the CMs and their suppliers that problems must be driven back to root cause, and this needs to happen both following a Pareto approach in parallel with immediately addressing critical small quantity problems. Drives fast closure on RMAs, associated failure analysis and corrective actions and corresponding reports Excellent analytical skills, including effective failure analysis and corrective action processes, and assessing the effectiveness of a contract manufacturer in this At least 5years QC experience in electronics industry or electronic R&D center or similar manufacturing environment.
