Responsibilities
To manage and coordinate the Product Development activities of the Company from concept, design, manufacture to product approval.
To ensure the Company is an industry leader in the development of new products utilizing industry best practice in relation to hardware, software, laboratory services, rapid prototyping, manufacturing capability and design services.
To liaise with customers in the development process to bring their innovation to market within agreed timelines.
Duties
Ensure compliance to Company policies and procedures including safe work practices.
Partner with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality and related Departments to establish the best possible design service to support the business as well as customer opportunities in new product development.
Direct and manage the Design Team in the day to day activities of the Product Design process ensuring compliance to Project Briefs and timelines.
Develop and improve design methods, systems, procedures and processes in a complex and rapidly changing business environment as dictated by the changing needs of Industry and the customer.
Assume responsibility for the selection of raw materials, component parts and packaging items including part specifications that are raised through the development of new products.
Manage and update the Bill of Materials, product specifications and Product Drawings ensuring compliance to the requirements set out by Central Standards.
Work with external supplier Groups, where directed, that have been selected to support the product design capability of the organization.
In conjunction with Quality Assurance provide assistance in raising Q.A. specifications and procedures including test methods when directed.
In conjunction with Customer Technical Service, Quality and related Departments review internal and external quality complaints to address product design failure as a corrective action initiative.
Recommend capital expenditure to ensure the Company has the best hardware and software in place as a Industry leader in new product innovation.
Ensure the proper communications channels are in place with regard to Project Management in order for Project Teams and related Departments to have a clear understanding of the activities and progress of all Product Development activities.
Implement the appropriate Human Resource policies and practices to ensure the Department has a motivated workforce and required skill levels to support the business.
QUALIFICATIONS：
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Design or related discipline, is preferred.
Ten years manufacturing experience and at least 5 years of management experience.
